Talking With Your Butthole Is Back, ‘Ace Ventura’ Reboot Very Possible

Ace Ventura, underrated classic, may return. Do you like bending over and speaking out your butt cheeks? Who doesn’t, right?

Morgan Creek Productions produced the original Ace Ventura series. Now, they changed their name to Morgan Creek Entertainment Group. They’re also going through their library of movies to reboot. Because why risk developing a new movie franchise when you can take the safe bet with something that’s 20+ years old.

With the Ace Ventura franchise, “we wanted to do a mainstream theatrical production relaunch,” [MCEG President David] Robinson said, stressing that the idea is not to do a straight remake but a new movie in the spirit of the original, part of Morgan Creek’s strategy to honor its library properties with the new takes without undercutting them. “Because it’s episodic in nature, about a pet detective, it also lends itself to a traditional single-camera series franchise.”

Jim Carrey may not necessarily star in the new series, at least not as the main star of the movie.

Robinson said the company would welcome Jim Carrey to reprise one of his signature roles as Ace Ventura. The current concept eyed for an Ace Ventura reboot is “a baton-handing,” Wall said, a long-lost son or daughter of Ace possibly showing up at his doorstep and taking over.

No. There is only one Ace Ventura. Even using the name Ace Ventura without Jim Carrey in the main role is like watching the Tupac hologram at Coachella. Unsettling.
