Hannibal Buress Arrested for Trying to Do the Right Thing

The great Hannibal Buress was arrested on Saturday night for…being black?

As you can see in the video, the officers don’t really have a good answer for why they cuff and stuff Buress. They mention “trespassing” but that seems like a lazy answer. According to the booking report, Buress was arrested for disorderly intoxication. I mean, he looks and sounds kind of drunk, but who is calling the cops on a drunk Hannibal Buress? I’m getting drunk with him. He seems like a nice and fun guy.

In the affidavit given by Buress, he claims that he was trying ask the officer for help in obtaining an Uber. The officer refused, which upset Buress and caused him to become disorderly.

I thought the cops were supposed to protect and serve. They would have been protected and served Buress and others by calling him an Uber while he was drunk instead of….not calling him an Uber. What’s the worst thing that happens if you call him an Uber? He gets home safely without endangering himself and others? The horror.

Instead, they refused to call him an Uber and he was rightfully upset.

The report continues by saying that Buress went inside a bar and the cop asked him to leave. Why? If you’re not going to call him an Uber, where is he gonna go? If you thought he was too drunk to continue to drink, maybe you should, ummmm, call the guy an Uber. Or let enter a bar so he can ask someone else to call him an Uber.

The cop says he asked Buress to leave five times before cuffing him. WHERE DID YOU WANT HIM TO GO, MR. OFFICER?!?!?!
