New Han Solo Movie Expected To Bomb Without Harrison Ford

Star Wars: The Last Jedi continues to rake it in at the box office. But audiences have been less than thrilled and now there are growing concerns that the next Star Wars project, a solo Han Solo movie, will bomb.

Those concerns come from someone close to the Disney/Star Wars camp, who told Screen Geek the following:

Disney is bracing themselves for the Han Solo movie to bomb. They were worried about it before all The Last Jedi controversy, but now they’re essentially writing Solo off. The lead actor, Alden Ehrenreich, can’t act, and they had a dialogue coach on hand for all of his scenes. On top of that, the script is unworkable. It’s going to be a car crash.

Given that the movie changed directors and turned things over to Ron Howard, it’s safe to say they knew this was a disaster. You only call upon Ron Howard when you’re hoping to make a boring movie with no risks. We’re talking about Han Solo here. The whole movie should be a risk.

Howard took over the film when there was supposedly just weeks left of shooting. And they ended up shooting for another four months. Howard had to cut out all the funny stuff that Phil Miller and Chris Lord put in, obviously.

The best part of that quote is the fact that the source outright says Alden Ehrenreich can’t act. I’ve never heard of this kid. A quick Google search shows me that he’s been in a bunch of movies that I’ve never seen. This kid was screwed from the beginning. People want a young Harrison Ford. That person simply does not exist.

The movie has Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, and Donald Glover. If this film doesn’t succeed, Disney may as well bin the entire Star Wars franchise.

The movie comes out May 25th, 2018. Get excited for all the behind the scenes horror stories leading up to and following the release of the film.

“If this film doesn’t succeed, Disney may as well bin the entire Star Wars franchise.”

Weak sarcasm, or idiotic prognostication?
Why not both things??
