Rose McGowan Sells Her House to Fight Harvey Weinstein

Rose McGowan is the true leader of the #MeToo movement. Without her initial tweets and the War on Weinstein that followed, I would have spent my last few months writing more about the Kardashians and less about sexual harassment in Hollywood.

When you’re leading the charge in a war, your enemies are going after you the hardest. For McGowan, her enemy is Harvey Weinstein and his legal team. Instead of accepting the truth and screwing off forever, Weinstein is doing that thing where he sticks around and tries to drag his opponent down with him.

Speaking to the Television Critics Association, McGowan mentioned that she’s having to sell her home in order to cover the legal fees it costs to battle Weinstein.

“It’s been really scary. I’m having to sell my house right now to pay legal bills fighting off the monster.”

This is why lawyers suck. Someone should do this pro bono for McGowan, make their name off the case, and watch the cash roll in after everything is settled. I’m sure McGowan would leave a nice tip when it’s all said and done.

I’m sure things are more complicated than that, but hey, I’m not a lawyer. I don’t know how this stuff works. I just know what I’d claim to do from behind a computer. Lawyer me is probably a far worse person who wouldn’t care about McGowan’s house, as long as I’m cashing weekly checks.

And these lawyers will probably be cashing checks for a long ass time because this battle doesn’t have an end in sight. Harvey Weinstein is old white man rich. He can keep throwing his money around until McGowan goes away or he runs out of money. And he aint running out of money anytime soon. Then again, I doubt McGowan is going away anytime soon either.

I read Kaley Cuoco, and not Blake Lively, as “the replacement” in the Blind Gossip piece.

She settled a lawsuit with Weinstein in 1997, but posed sexily with just him at a party in 2007 and other parties after that. I don’t understand her thinking if he really raped her 10 years before that.

How could it be retaliation if the warrant was issued nine months ago? The reason everyone found out about it today is that Rose McGowan made a tweet about it. It looks as though the reason Rose came forward about Weinstein was because she knew she would be facing criminal prosecution soon and wanted some good PR first.
