The 2018 Olympic Winter Games are in Pyeongchang, South Korea. They are not in P.F. Chang’s. That would be kind of rad, but the restaurant chain wants you to know that despite reports by ABC News, you cannot win a gold medal in the biathlon at P.F. Chang’s.
Contrary to this broadcast, we’re not hosting the games. 🙂 https://t.co/3HW694pE4J

I know it’s disappointing, but all of you biathletes can come back to my place if you need to be consoled. Wait, that’s not what biathlete means? So what does it mean? They ski and then do target shooting? That’s even dumber than curling. Okay, I changed my mind, you disappointed biathletes are going to have to go somewhere else. And while you’re there, train to compete in a real sport. Maybe some of the North Korean cheerleaders ended up at P. F. Chang’s, I’ll have to console them instead.

Producer: You're sure the Olympics are being held at a P.F. Chang's?
Graphic intern: Pretty sure
Producer: Done https://t.co/ZBuCoj9Bds

Gotta love this explainer graf: "PyeongChang and P.F. Chang’s are not the same thing, and beyond the fact that they both begin with the letter P and end in 'Chang,' they have little in common." https://t.co/lDvME8mRsD

But the real winner here is named tesajay, who made this tweet last week.
While the reaction on Twitter was mostly jovial about the mix-up, there were some people who thought the graphic was… you know what, no, I’m not doing it. It’s just Gizmodo writers being back on their bullshit, I don’t want to give them any more attention. It was a funny gaffe because Pyeongchang kind of sounds like P.F. Chang’s. Let people enjoy things. They took Olympic hockey away from us, don’t take this away from us, too. It’s all we have left.
