Harvey Weinstein May Finally Get What’s Coming to Him

Believe it or not, Harvey Weinstein still roams freely amongst the public. Despite all the allegations against him over the last few months, he hasn’t been cuffed and thrown in jail to rot.

That may change shortly.

According to the Daily Beast, the NYPD is ready to make an arrest. The only thing holding them back is approval from Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance.

The NYPD is currently investigating five different sexual assault charges laid against Weinstein. The case presented by Lucia Evans is the strongest of the fives.

Evans told the New Yorker how Weinstein forced her to perform oral sex on him while in his office in 2004.

The other case comes from Paz de la Huerta, who claims Weinstein raped her in 2010.

Vance could be a big hurdle for the NYPD to clear. He failed to authorize the arrest of Weinstein back in 2015, when Ambra Battilana Gutierrez came to him with groping allegations. She had the movie producer on tape, admitting the act.

According to the report, Vance is currently looking into the finances of Weinstein along with potential non-disclosure agreements with other accusers.

Weinstein is also being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, who are looking at five cases of sexual harassment against Weinstein. On top of that, the New York State Attorney General’s office has a civil suit against him.

All of this is to say: dude is screwed.

Weinstein has been afraid to travel to New York due to fear of being arrested.

Whether he’s arrested today, tomorrow, or next week, the case of Women vs. Weinstein is long from being over.
