Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui Harmonizes with Herself

Fifth Harmony was down to Fourth Harmony when Camila Cabello left the group in 2016. On Mar. 19, they became No Harmony, announcing that they would be taking a hiatus.

This has opened the door for Lauren Jauregui to go solo. And gone solo she has, appearing in Playboy and sharing her plans.

“Right now, I’m just exploring myself and getting in touch with myself creatively. To be real, I don’t want to give myself boundaries.”

“Getting in touch with herself creatively” means going on tour with Halsey in June. The two released a song titled “Strangers” in May of last year. Many praised the song for discussing the topic of a same sex relationship.

A tour typically leads to a new album, but the 21-year-old singer has been mum on that topic. She told Playboy that there are no plans for an album or EP just yet, but she continues to release new tracks with other artists.

When she’s not making new music or wearing mesh tops, Jauregui has not been afraid to go after President Trump. In 2016, she wrote an open letter to Trump, criticizing his policies, particularly the Muslim travel ban. In the letter, she attacked Trump for pardoning Arizona’s Sheriff Joe Arpaio

“It’s incredible to me that you’ll pardon a man who is known for running his prison as a Latino concentration camp and call him a patriot, but then deport kids with a dream to be successful citizens with safe lives.”
