Taylor Swift has a song titled “Getaway Car” on her album Reputation. Someone took that a little too literal.
According to NY Daily News, a man named Bruce Rowley, 26, robbed a Connecticut bank and told police that his plan was to drop the money off at Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island home. No word if he got that far. Rowley told police multiple times that he had a crush on the singer, but when he tried contacting her, she didn’t return his calls.
That led to him sticking up a bank for an undisclosed amount of money.
Along with giving money to Swift, Rowley was looking to donate the cash to the Ansonia Police Department in another effort to impress her. He was arrested for robbery in the second degree and larceny in the fourth degree with bail set at $100,000. If Swift loves him back, he’ll be out on bail by the time you read this.
While one man robbed a bank to prove his love, another just tried to break into her house. Justin Lilly, 23, was charged with trespassing after he climbed the wall protecting her Los Angeles home. He’s facing a misdemeanor count of trespassing and refusing to leave private property.
Swift is no stranger to fans going to extreme measures to get her attention. Back in January, a man violated his restraining order and threatened Swift’s family.
Note to anyone thinking about committing a crime in an effort to impress Taylor Swift: if you’re going to do it, make sure you’re British.
