Marky Mark’s Kids Don’t Get ‘Good Vibrations’ From His Shirtless Antics

Mark Wahlberg made a surprise appearance on Ellen yesterday, coming out unannounced when Ellen said she needed “a stronger mark” for a new game she was going to play.

Degeneres immediately noted that Wahlberg was wearing clothes, and asked him how his family reacted to his notorious shirtlessness and his buff physique.

“My daughters get very annoyed by the pictures. Very annoyed,” the 46-year-old says. “I get ‘Dad, put a shirt on’ all the time. Even when I have a shirt on! If I have one shirt, they say put another shirt on.”

“They don’t like it when I scare the boyfriend and then all of the sudden they’re like, ‘Dad, can you come see me at school?’ because they want me to come and scare the boyfriend,” Wahlberg quips.

No comment on how his daughters feel about him blinding an old man, I’m guessing they’re fine with it, though. Less embarrassing.

Later in the interview, Wahlberg said he was producing a reboot of Captain Kangaroo, and gave Ellen a replica of Bob Keeshan’s signature red jacket.

“I’m trying to find new ways to get my kids interested in science, technology, engineering, things like that. Mathematics, which is the worst,” Wahlberg shares. “So … what made me interested in school was Captain Kangaroo, which ran for, like, 30 years. They did 50 seasons. We are bringing back a cool STEM scientist as Captain Kangaroo.”

Walhberg also mentioned he was so in shape at the moment to prepare for The Six Billion Dollar Man, an updated feature film remake of The Six Million Dollar Man, which starred Lee Majors as Steve Austin, a pilot who is saved from death by the government with state-of-the-art bionic implants and then basically enslaved to pay off his debt. All I have to say about the remake is if it doesn’t feature Mark Wahlberg fighting Bigfoot in slow motion, then it isn’t worth seeing.
