‘Trans-Racial’ Activist Rachel Dolezal Charged With Felony Welfare Fraud

Rachel Dolezal likes to pretend she’s something she isn’t. She came to the public’s attention when she pretended to be the victim of several hate crimes, and in the course of that investigation it turned out she was white and pretending to be black. She’s currently pretending her name is Nkechi Amare Diallo. And it turns out that pretending to be poor and collecting welfare when you’re getting paid $80,000 in royalties from a book is fraud, so Rachel/Nkechi is now in trouble for one of her lies.

CNN is reporting that Dolezal was charged with ” theft by welfare fraud, perjury and false verification for public assistance,” for hiding over $80,000 in royalties from her book about how much harder being black is for white people.

An investigator with the department’s Office of Fraud and Accountability recalled reading news articles that Dolezal had received public assistance, prompting him to seek a review of her records. The review showed she was actively receiving assistance and had been reporting her only source of income as $300 a month in gifts from friends, according to court documents.

Scanning a company website, the investigator also determined that the publisher of Dolezal’s book typically offered contracts that included advance payments of $10,000 to $20,000, court records show.

A subpoena requesting her self-employment and banking records was served last year, and she complied with it, according to court records. These revealed that $83,294 was deposited in her US bank account between August 2015 and September 2017, the records show.

As if Dolezal doesn’t have enough problems, I heard a rumor that the estate of Al Jolson was considering suing her for stealing his act.
