‘Roseanne’ Reboot May Turn into a ‘Roseanne’ Reboot Without Roseanne. Got It?

Roseanne was canceled because Roseanne turned out to be racist (both on the show and in real life). But there was too much money left on the table for the show to go quietly into the good night.

Deadline is reporting that the show could continue, under a different name, just without Roseanne Barr as part of the show. The new show would focus more on Sara Gilbert (Darlene) and her children, with a little bit of John Goodman (Dan) sprinkled in.

I vote that we give Goodman his own television show and fill in the rest later.

Of course, creating a Roseanne without Roseanne will be easier said than done. Barr was the co-creator and executive producer of the show. If it continues without her, legal issues must be settled. That means paying Barr millions of dollars to shut up and not complain. And if we know one thing about Roseanne, it’s that she does not shut up and will always complain.

Let’s just pretend ABC didn’t make Roseanne relevant in 2018 and move on with our lives.
