Heidi Klum Used to Be a Nudist

Heidi Klum is one of the world’s most popular models, and she’s recently had success as a television host. But before she was helping Tim Gunn to tell designers to make it work on Project Runway, Klum was a German nudist. She told Ocean Drive about how she used to go to nudist campsites when she was younger in an interview promoting her new swimwear line.

I grew up in a very free environment with my parents. We’d go to nude beaches. We’re very open-minded, but you can’t say that about all Germans. We didn’t have a lot of money, so we’d go camping a lot and my parents chose nude campsites, so nudity became normal for me. You stand out more if you cover up. And I loved it.

I love that Klum loved being naked so much she grew up being comfortable being photographed like this, and she has no intentions of stopping anytime soon.

Of course, Klum also said she eats a ton of garlic as part of her health regimen, so vampires and people sensitive to that scent might want to watch out around her.

Beauty is what you put in your body. I do smoothies every morning with ginger, kiwis and berries. Ginger is so good for you. So is garlic, which I eat a ton of. Sometimes I boil a whole head of garlic and make tea from it and sip it. It’s spicy, so I put honey in it to make it sweeter. And I use Vintner’s Daughter because I believe plants are good for our skin.

I like garlic as much as the next guy, but there are limits, Heidi.
