Tyrese Finally Knows His Role and Shuts His Mouth in Feud with The Rock

Tyrese Gibson finally realized messing with The Rock was a bad idea.

The Tyrese and Rock beef started when Tyrese felt scorned following the announcement of a Fast & Furious spin-off featuring Hobbs, Rock’s character in the movie. Tyrese took to Instagram to complain about the spin-off potentially pushing back the release date of Fast 9. Since the Fast & Furious franchise is Gibson’s only source of income, having the date pushed back means he would have to try and sell more albums. That’s not happening.

The Rock ignored Gibson because kings don’t have time for peasants. Gibson was so hurt by Rock ignoring him, he dug up a two-year old video of Rock trashing his “dog s**t” album.

Seeing as the two were friends at the time, it’s likely The Rock was just joking. Why did Tyrese feel the need to post the video anyway? Because he was super desperate for the attention of the Hollywood’s biggest star.

During a recent appearance of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, he was asked about Tyrese and his comments. The Rock responded to Tyrese by not responding.

“We haven’t talked at all. That whole thing with Tyrese, it was pretty disappointing because I’ve been friends with Tyrese for a very long time … To me, there’s no need to have a conversation.”

Now, after getting ignored for the last 10 months, Tyrese has finally waved the white flag.

Appearing on the Red Pill podcast (via US Weekly), Tyrese explained how he screwed up in his fight with Rock.

“I found myself being the messenger on behalf of various people associated to the [Fast and Furious] franchise. But stupid me was the only one who went public about those feelings, which is my own fault. It’s not professional, it’s not cool.”

No one else went public because having The Rock on board with the movie means more than moving the release date up a year.

Tyrese didn’t outright apologize. That will likely come when they are face-to-face again next time they film. Until then, Tyrese should stay silent before The Rock lays the smackdown on his candy ass.
