Ivanka Trump is too busy playing politician to make time for her fashion line.
According to Page Six, Ivanka’s clothing/shoe line will be shutting down “ASAP.”
Multiple outlets dropped Ivanka’s line when Donald Trump took office, hoping to distance themselves from our current president and his daughter. Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Jet.com, DSW, Shoes.com, Belk, ShopStyle and Gilt all parted ways with Ivanka’s line. Nordstrom cited “brand performance” as the reason for the two parties going their separate ways. That’s just a corporate way of saying, “Over half the country stopped buying your s**t because they hate your dad.”
Here’s Ivanka’s statement on the matter.
“When we first started this brand, no one could have predicted the success that we would achieve. After 17 months in Washington, I do not know when or if I will ever return to the business, but I do know that my focus for the foreseeable future will be the work I am doing here in Washington, so making this decision now is the only fair outcome for my team and partners.”
I have a strange feeling she’ll return to the business in the fall of 2020.
Ivanka can now focus more time on, ummm, what exactly does she do in her father’s administration? Well, whatever it is, now she and others don’t have to shoehorn references to her clothing line into their speeches.
You can still purchase Ivanka wear on websites such as Amazon. However, you should act fast. With this announcement, they are sure to sell out in the next five years.
