Johnny Depp Is Now Accusing Amber Heard of Domestic Violence

This Johnny Depp and Amber heard thing just keeps getting more interesting. Did I say interesting because I meant idiotic. That was a typo, I don’t know why I left it in and then commented on it like it was carved into stone and I can’t fix it, but here we are. The latest thing is that Depp is accusing Amber Heard of domestic violence, claiming she punched him in the face when he was late for her birthday party.

In the court papers, Depp, 55, claims Heard assaulted him after he arrived almost two hours late to his then-wife’s 30th birthday dinner on April 21, 2016. According to the document, Depp had a meeting with his business manager and accountants beforehand but kept Heard updated by text.

Depp claims in the court filming that when he arrived, Heard was allegedly “cold towards” him and began “criticizing” him after the guests had left. The document claims Depp, who was “not drunk or high on drugs,” was reading in bed when Heard, who had been drinking, allegedly became “aggressive and violent, punching him twice in the face.” Depp allegedly responded by “grabbing [her] arms to stop her punching him again and told her to stop.” Depp claims he pushed her onto the bed and told her he was leaving and not to follow him.

I’ve covered this whole thing since it happened, and my initial inclination was to believe Depp over Amber Heard. The reason is that Heard has been accused of domestic violence in the past while Depp hasn’t, and abusers love to make themselves the victims. Then Johnny Depp punched a location manager on set while filming a movie and my opinion shifted. Of course, Amber Heard’s lawyers brought up that incident in denying Depp’s allegations, giving this statement to People.

These allegations are totally false. One needs only read the recent Rolling Stone article about Mr. Depp to understand his state of mind. Mr. Depp is currently being sued in multiple venues, including for assaulting a location manager on the set of City of Lies. On many occasions, eyewitnesses observed the extent of the abuse Mr. Depp inflicted on Ms. Heard.

So here’s where I am now. I think they’re both lying. I think they’re abusive assholes who probably deserved each other. I think they both probably hit each other at some point, because they’re both probably abusive pieces of s**t. This is like one of those TV shows modeled on the movie Rashomon but in three acts where two people tell their version of events and it makes them look blameless, then the third act shows what really happened and they were both kind of jerks.
