Nicki Minaj has been canceled.
No, really. She canceled her North American tour due to low ticket sales. She’s calling it a postponement due to “scheduling conflicts” with Future, but no one announces a major tour and then has a scheduling conflict with the co-headliner.
The tour was supposed to begin on September 21 in Baltimore, Maryland. Instead, the tour will begin in Australia in January. Yes, the European tour is still on because as we all know, Europe is like three months behind the United States so they don’t realize Nicki is over.
A source told Page Six, “Nicki’s tour could be the most disappointing ticket sales of the year for any artist.”
Remember when we thought Taylor Swift’s tour wasn’t selling well but she just broke the record for highest grossing tour of all-time?
Minaj was selling less than 5,000 tickets across the US. Each arena holds around 20,000 people. You don’t have to be a math major to know that’s not good.
Minaj tried to explain things and promised to make it up to fans. She says she doesn’t have enough time to rehearse because she had to push her album back. If only she had a daughter that she could use to help boost sales.
Thank you guys. I can’t wait for you to see what I have in store! Next level! I’m so proud of what we’re working on & cant wait to give you the show you deserve! It simply can’t be up & running in a month. I also have TV spots, videos shoots, + Made In America Festival coming up. https://t.co/LAYcUmHtgM
