The CW’s Arrowverse is getting its biggest star yet as Variety announced Ruby Rose will be playing Batwoman in this season’s Arrow/Supergirl/Flash crossover and in the Batwoman series being developed for next season. After appearing on Orange is the New Black, Rose has been getting steady work as a movie star, most recently in Big Jaws The Meg. Most of the other CW stars were in a few episodes of Glee or Cougar Town before being cast as beloved superheroes.
I think Ruby Rose is a good choice, but I haven’t heard her American accent for myself yet. That could really make or break it if she sounds like Liam Neesen, but fellow Aussie Keiynan Lonsdale did a great job as Kid Flash.
At least one person was unhappy with the casting, as this conservative journalist’s tweet expressing his frustration that Batwoman isn’t being playing by a straight, white male went viral.
Ruby Rose to star as the new lesbian Batwoman because you cannot have any straight, white male characters in 2018. Every new, or rebooted, character has to either be gay, female, black, Latino or more than one of those. Examples Magnum P.I., One Day At A Time, Roswell and more.

There were some priceless replies to this opinion.
I KNOW it makes me so mad! Batwoman has ALWAYS been a straight white male how do they not GET THAT. UGH.

I knew I was missing something in my life! Now I know what it is: Straight, white men in movies and TV. I'm going to go see if I can find something — anything — with a straight white guy as the lead. Wish me luck!

I could find these dunks all day, really. They just keep coming. Try to have better opinions, especially when your opinion is “Batwoman being played by a woman is an outrage!” The only outrage here is that Legends of Tomorrow is being excluded from the crossover so we won’t get to see Sara Lance, the multiverse’s most perfect woman, seduce Batwoman.
