I don’t watch a lot of reality TV, and I especially don’t watch a lot of foreign reality TV. I mean, unless you count Chef and My Fridge and The Great British Bake Off as reality TV. Normally, you’re not missing much, just a bunch of people with more money than brains getting STDs. But the latest episode of The Bachelor Vietnam was freaking bananas.
Here, look at what happens at the rose ceremony.
So Minh Thu was about to leave, she didn’t get a rose, and she says that she had fallen in love. But not with bachelor Nguyen Quoc Trung, Thu was in love with another contestant, a woman named Truc Nhu. And Truc Nhu had been given a rose from Quoc Trung, she was staying. But Thu confessed her love and asked her fellow contestant to leave with her.
And she did. It was super dramatic, and she and Quoc Trung obviously had a connection and had developed feelings for each other, but in the end, she gave him back his rose and left with Minh Thu. And all’s well that ends well, they lived happily ever after.
For about ten minutes. Here’s where this whole thing goes absolutely bananas. After the above clip the show posted to their YouTube channel, Nhu dumped Thu and decided to come back and accept Quoc Trung’s rose after all.
That girl is bad news, I can tell. That’s pretty fickle. I think we have to protect Minh Thu and make sure nothing bad ever happens to her, because she is a precious angel. Okay, I actually don’t know that, I don’t speak Vietnamese, so I could only watch the subtitled bits of this, and with my luck we’re going to find out that she spent the her time on the show denying the Holocaust or listening to Maroon 5 or something equally terrible. But from what I’ve seen, she’s a precious angel and we need to protect her smile.
