LeBron James About To Take Another L In ‘Space Jam 2’

Don’t ask me why, but LeBron James is making Space Jam 2.

Ryan Coogler will produce the film. He’s the genius behind Black Panther, Creed, and Fruitvale Station so his track record speaks for itself. But it still doesn’t explain why the hell this is happening.

First off, there was no mystery ending in Space Jam. Michael Jordan retired due to gambling allegations, got pulled into the Looney Tunes world, won there because Michael Jordan never loses, and then returned to the NBA because his gambling suspension was up. All threads were tied up. No loose ends.

But here comes LeBron. He’s gotten so tired of losing in the NBA Finals that he decided to he’s to take down a force stronger than the Warriors when he defeats The Monstars.

I say this as someone who loves LeBron and loves Space Jam. This doesn’t need to happen. If I wanted to see LeBron play with a bunch of Looney Tunes, I’d watch all 82 Lakers games this season. LeBron is going to be begging Bugs Bunny to join by the end of the year.

Space Jam 2 has been rumored for years, with LeBron as the star, but never came to fruition because he lived in Cleveland and no one is filming a movie in Cleveland. LeBron legit signed with the Lakers just to make a Space Jam sequel. Think about that for a second.

James told The Hollywood Reporter:

“The Space Jam collaboration is so much more than just me and the Looney Tunes getting together and doing this movie. It’s so much bigger. I’d just love for kids to understand how empowered they can feel and how empowered they can be if they don’t just give up on their dreams. And I think Ryan did that for a lot of people.”

Oh, so it’s one of those movies. You want kids to feel empowered? Get out of the second round this year.
