Kanye West Is Done Getting Political

Kanye West has been talking a lot about politics lately, and it’s clear he sort of has about half of an idea what he’s talking about. He clearly believes himself to be some sort of iconoclast who is going to open all of our eyes about the way things really are, but he’s actually just a really good musician with really dumb ideas about most other things. He’s sort of like John Lennon in that he’s a giant narcissist who should probably do fewer interviews.

But Kanye got the message when the backlash began over Candice Owens’ “Blexit” project to convince black Americans to vote Republican. Owens credited Kanye with designing her Blexit merch, but Kanye wants nothing to do with it.

This really doesn’t come as a surprise, Owens is a bit of a… what’s a nice word for wackadoodle? Wingnut?

Kanye never struck me as a conservative. If you look at what he actually wanted to do, the only thing he was specifically talking about was ending the legal slavery of prison inmates, even though he went about it in the dumbest way possible.

None of those things are on Trump or Candice Owens’ agenda. To be fair, they’re not really on the Democrats’ agenda either, though the Democrats will occasionally pay lip service to one of them during an election year. Republicans are just actively against all of those things. And Kanye sounds like he figured that out.

It’s probably for the best that Kanye stops talking about politics and focuses on being the best Perrier bottle he can be.

That’s still so freakin’ adorable. I’m gonna wear that for Halloween and pick up so many women dressed as bottles of Cristal. Or named Cristal.
