Madonna Can’t Stop Picking Fights With Lady Gaga

Is it just me, or is Madonna seem really threatened by Lady Gaga? Because she can’t seem to resist stirring s**t up with Gaga for attention.

Recently, Madonna shaded Lady Gaga for her praise of A Star is Born co-star Bradley Cooper. Lady Gaga has been using this statement so much during press tours that it’s become a meme.

This is what Lady Gaga has been saying:

“There can be 100 people in the room and 99 don’t believe in you, and you just need one [referring to Bradley Cooper casting her in A Star is Born].”

Madonna is claiming that Lady Gaga is ripping her off (again, in Madonna’s opinion) and posted a now-deleted clip on Instagram of an old interview where Madonna says:

“If there’s 100 people in the room and 99 say they like you, I only remember the one who didn’t.”

Yes, Lady Gaga’s statement does bear a strong resemblance to Madonna’s, even though the intent is the exact opposite. Well, it didn’t stop there. Madonna posted two more Instagrams, the first one saying:

“Don’t f— with me Monday.”

And the second one:

“I heard it all before…talk is cheap. If you can’t improve the silence…say nothing, #sorrynotsorry.”

Yeah, it’s a pity Madonna doesn’t follow her own advice. I don’t see what value she’s adding by picking a fight with Lady Gaga. And it’s starting to sound pretty pathetic. In recent years, Madonna’s main focus seems to be trying to stay relevant rather than actually make quality music.

Here’s the truth of the music industry. Almost everyone is influenced by someone else. You’re going to hear some music that sounds somewhat similar to someone else’s. It just happens; it’s not something to have a conniption over. Remember when Lil Kim couldn’t stop bitching at Nicki Minaj because she thought Nicki was copying her?

Hell, back in the early-2000s, Theory of a Deadman sounded exactly like Nickelback (please don’t throw garbage at me for mentioning this name). It was no secret, everyone knew it. And Nickelback didn’t give a f**k. In fact, they signed Theory of A Deadman to their record label. Because (in this case, at least) Nickelback knew that there was room for everyone to make shitty music!

Madonna, I like you. You’re an incredibly successful artist with decades worth of hits. But let’s face it, your music is not the same anymore. You’re devoting too much energy making mediocre music and picking fights with artists who are inspired by you. Don’t worry, one day, another artist is going to come along emulating Lady Gaga. But you don’t need to be the cranky old lady lurking in the corner bitching about how you did it all first.

I don’t think Madonna is threatened of Lady Gaga whatsoever. In fact, I don’t think she thinks about her at all. I’m sure somebody posted that 1989 clip of Madonna talking about 99 people in a room, and Madonna just re-posted it. She probably didn’t even know of the Lady Gaga connection. And if by chance she did, she probably thought it was just funny. I’m sure she is also aware that many people have said if before, between and will after her too. It’s not that deep. Just like when Madonna called the Born This Way song reductive –… Read more »
