Pete Davidson Appears on ‘SNL’ After Suicidal Social Media Message

Over the weekend, Pete Davidson made a fairly disturbing post on Instagram, saying “i really don’t want to be on this earth anymore. i’m doing my best to stay here for you but i actually don’t know how much longer i can last. all i’ve ever tried to do was help people. just remember i told you so.” before deleting all of his social media accounts entirely.

According to CNN, the police checked up on him before he showed up on Saturday Night Live later that night.

Police officers met with Davidson in person, NYPD Lieutenant Paul Ng said. Ng would not say where or when the wellness check was done.

Davidson was on SNL to introduce the musical act afterwards. However, neither Davidson nor NBC is talking about what happened.

An NBC spokesperson said the network isn’t commenting on the matter. CNN has reached out to Davidson’s representatives but has not heard back.

No word on what caused Pete’s episode, but it was shortly after he stepped in to defend Kanye West from his ex-fiancee, Ariana Grande, who Davidson said he was “disgusted” by.
