Tumblr Announces It Will Ban Porn on December 17th, Expect Bankruptcy Declaration on December 18th
Tumblr is an interesting social media network in that’s known for two basic things: whiny teenagers turning any sort of minor perceived slight into a life or death issue and porn. On the commentary for an early Rick and Morty episode, Justin Roiland summed the site up by saying the same people co-creator Dan Harmon was worried would be mad Roiland was “sexualizing” Morty’s sister Summer were drawing pictures of Rick fucking Morty.
Well, Tumblr has said there’s no more room for porn, they want be known exclusively as the website that drives teenage girls to suicide because they drew a Steven Universe character off-model. Given that, I t’s somewhat ironic that the announcement was titled ‘A Better, More Positive Tumblr.’
It’s pretty hard not to think this isn’t a response to being removed from the App Store because of Apple’s “no porn in the App Store” policy. As much as I love my iPad, I like boobies that much more. Lots of people agree, and that got the hashtag #TumblrIsOverParty trending on Twitter.

And Tumblr’s algorithm for detecting adult content is tremendously flawed.
