Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik Call It Quits (Again)

In case anyone still cared, pucker-faced fashion scion Gigi Hadid has yet again called things off with the second-most famous member of One Direction, Zayn Malik. After a prior split last March, Gigi allegedly dumped Zayn after struggling to cope with his various “personal problems” (you know, the ones that overpaid celebrities chronically suffer from). A vaguely credible anonymous source over at US Weekly claims that Gigi “focused all her time and energy on him, but it just got to be too much.”

After initially shacking up back in the heady days of 2015, Gigi and Zayn embarked on a lengthy, Instagram-fueled “it’s complicated” rollercoaster, which was breathlessly covered in supermarket checkout aisle rags nationwide. After their first break-up, they were then spotted publicly canoodling in an allegedly impromptu moment that was probably more choreographed than the Moscow Ballet.

Most recently, chins got to wagging about their relationships status after Zayn unfollowed his one-time paramour on Instagram, leading Gigi to show up to Taylor Swift’s New Year’s Eve Party sans boy-toy (where was my invite!?). But all good-ish things must come to an end — including, quite possibly, Zayn’s career. Indeed, it seems likely that slumping sales Zayn’s sophomore album, which debuted at a turgid #61 on the Billboard charts, might plausibly have something to do with his depression.

Whatever the case may be, Gigi and Zayn are currently very much on the outs. That said, that pesky ol’ anonymous source (AKA someone’s PR team intern) remains hopeful, stating: “They could get back together, but it’s over for now.” So, if your hopes and dreams in 2019 rest on the fate of a relationship between the two pansexual robots pictured above, don’t get too down in the dumps — you’ll probably live to see them break up all over again!
