Poor Idina Menzel. She forgot one of her main responsibilities as a parent to small humans is keeping the magic alive by performing the duties of Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, etc. Unfortunately, she forgot to do her Tooth Fairy duty for her son, Walker, which she revealed in a recent tweet:
The tooth fairy didn’t show up last night. Mom put tooth in tissue and son hid it under pillow. Then mom fell asleep and woke up this morning to son with tears. “Tooth fairy didn’t come” That tooth fairy better get her s**t together. #badmoms

And poor young Walker woke up to still find his tooth unclaimed and no cash. That can definitely be traumatizing for a young child who still has complete faith in these mystical beings. Idina lamented her tragic mistake with the hashtag #badmoms.
Don’t be too hard on yourself, Idina, this can happen to any parent. I remember once when I woke up to find that the Tooth Fairy forgot to come pick up my tooth. Where the hell was my payout? Luckily, my mother was pretty smart. She suggested that we check downstairs to see if the Tooth Fairy had come in through the basement. While we were searching, I believe that it was my dad who beelined for my room to supply the Tooth Fairy money. By the time my mom and I came back upstairs, I had my money, so I was satisfied, and my parents breathed a sigh of relief and thanked God that I was seven and stupid.
Menzel seems to have had a similar happy ending. She tweeted later on that the Tooth Fairy got her s**t together and ponied up with the cash and a note a shown below:
Perpetuating lies and dishonesty in the family household. (Except for love and adore) it’s a slippery slope. Thanks for all the advice. pic.twitter.com/rRpGH6ab4Q

So, at least young Walker’s sense of wonderment and innocence remains in tact.
