New Jersey Senator Cory Booker is one of the country’s most eligible bachelors. He’s handsome, he’s beloved as the Newark mayor who used to shovel old ladies’ driveways, he’s a senator and his pockets are stuffed to bursting with drug money. Excuse me, “pharmaceutical lobbyist campaign contributions”. But even if he couldn’t make it work with Mindy Kaling, it looks like he’s off the market, just in time for his run for the White House.
Booker was on “The Breakfast Club” with Charlamagne tha God on Tuesday when he told the rapper and host that he “got a boo.” That’s the exact phrase he used. Cory Booker is 49 years old. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is 29 and calls her significant other her “partner.”
Via The Hill:
“First of all, there’s two more years until I might fulfill this duty. So give me some time. My girlfriend might listen to this,” Booker said.
“You don’t want to marry somebody now,” Charlamagne quipped back. “Once you start getting hot, you might become president. She might just want you for that.”
“Before I declare[d] [for] president, I’m dating somebody that’s really special,” Booker responded. Booker announced last week that he was running for president, joining an increasingly crowded Democratic field.
The leading theory as to who Booker might be dating is Rosario Dawson, one of Bernie Sanders’ most prominent supporters in 2016. Bernie Sanders is essentially the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020, trailing only the increasingly unlikely to run Joe Biden in polls, while Booker is currently sixth behind Beto O’Rourke, someone whose most notable accomplishment is losing an election Ted Cruz, a man no one likes. What I’m saying is that if Booker is dating Dawson, it’s unlikely that there will be much tension over 2020 because Booker has about as much support from voters as I do.
