Cardi B came out in her own defense on Tuesday when an old video of her talking about drugging and robbing men during her days as a stripper resurfaced. Cardi explained, “I had to go strip, I had to go, ‘Oh yeah, you want to f**k me? Yeah, yeah, yeah, let’s go to this hotel.’” She said, “That’s what I used to do.”

Being 2019 and the fact that everyone now has a voice, this did not go over well. There was major backlash where people were trying to cancel Cardi B. The hashtag #SurvivingCardiB like #SurvivingRKelly even showed up.
The indication that you HAD to drug and rob men to survive is an example of the sympathy you use to manipulate public perception. You continuously use the hood as a reasoning for your wrongs instead of taking accountability for them. #SurvivingCardiB https://t.co/WUiHDhDDHD

Cardi largely ignored it until Tuesday.

She basically posted something to the effect of the past is the past and that the men she drugged and robbed were conscious, willing and aware. Which doesn’t make much sense. Why did she need to drug them if they were conscious, willing and aware? I’m pretty sure if I was conscious and watched a stripper rob me, I’d do something about it. Like yell really loudly to try to scare them away.
On the other hand, you can’t compare this to a guy drugging and raping a woman. I feel like someone would rather lose a few hundred bucks rather than be forcefully penetrated. But that’s just me.
