Quentin Tarantino is a great director. Film critic Leslie Lee III of the Struggle Session podcast has said any director who has done at least two good movies is a legend, and by all accounts with Once Upon A Time in Hollywood Quentin Tarantino has made nine. Maybe eight, but be nice to Death Proof.
I don’t think Tarantino is the best director of all time, though he’s definitely in that conversation, but even his worst movie is a good way to spend an evening.
When you see that, you’re going to have a good time.
Because people are the way they are, a lot of people want to bring him down. Usually this takes the form of saying Tarantino is a bad person. Maybe because of how he portrayed Bruce Lee.
It really seems like Tarantino is racist depending on Asian stereotypes of then and now. It makes me sick that he would tarnish the memory of Bruce Lee. I won't be seeing the film. https://t.co/H3j70uESjl

Wow, it's so adorable watching Quentin Tarantino whitemansplain Bruce Lee to his own daughter.
Oh, and white people please hard check the way you see earned confidence in people of colour as "arrogance." Especially when you've got an ego like Tarantino's. https://t.co/mmKGmVgfhO

Wow. Now Tarantino dead ass coming out N LYING on Bruce Lee. Bruce NEVER said he would beat Ali in a fight N I'd fucking LOVE for 1 of U Tarantino dick riders 2 come try N show evidence that he did. They're really out here trying 2 drag Bruce's legacy through the dirt. F**k that.

Or maybe it’s because of the time Uma Thurman was injured on set on Kill Bill.
Also donât forget all the people who conveniently forgot about Tarantino putting Uma Thurman in a car accident on set so they âenjoyâ his latest film – https://t.co/R3slwMgJAQ

Keep in mind Uma Thurman said he did the right thing in the wake of the accident.
Some people who are playing the game on hard mode even try to say Tarantino isn’t a good filmmaker when he’s clearly a top-tier talent.
apparently âtarantinoâ is an easier way to pronounce âuma thurman and samuel jacksonâ, bc thatâs all thatâs relevant about him

As someone majoring in film: youâre absolutely 100% wrong. Tarantino is not as legendary as you make him out to be and yes he and his films are problematic. Iâll take Scorsese any day over Tarantino. Even Spielberg who I have some issues with is a much better option.

I love the word “problematic” in modern usage because it now means “anything I don’t like and don’t want to explain why I don’t like it.” It’s just a way of following the crowd and saying “I unquestioningly accept your thesis that something is bad.”
There was also this tweet:
Boys in these comments be proving my point â¨đâđť
— peyton june!!! (@peyjuly) August 8, 2019
Which is basically the same as this tweet:
go ahead. keep screaming "Shut The F**k Up " at me. it only makes my opinions Worse

But back to Tarantino. Here’s why you’re not going to cancel him no matter how many times people say the n-word in his movies because his movies are all great. I just rewatched Inglourious Basterds last night, it’s insanely good. The night before I watched the 3 1/2 hour cut of The Hateful Eight, and honestly, it went by a lot faster than Avengers: Endgame.
At the end of the day, people like good movies, and Quentin Tarantino makes good movies. You can be the hipster douchebag who says Tarantino isn’t even that good, but you know he is. You know, deep in your heart of hearts, that Sophia Coppola will never be as good as Quentin Tarantino. And everyone knows it.
lol @ this article The author is so needlessly defensive. Like, we get it, you are a stan and have linked your personal identity to Tarantino and his movies, so any criticism makes you mad because it feels personal. Also, you are a dummy that uses SJW and “virtue signalling” unironically, we get it. Chill. It’s freshman film students and hipsters who think Tarantino is a genius or a great director, btw. imo he’s just all right. Just okay. Nothing special. And he’s definitely not included in a greatest directors debate, not even in passing comment or afterthought, lol. Also… Read more »
Leslee is a black leftist who likes movies. He’s of the Angela Davis feminist arm, so putting him next to the I hate SJW’s crowd is hilarious. Maybe you’re just not very smart or creative?
He is a douchebag and his movies are mediocre at best.
