Selena Gomez Reminds Us That Justin Bieber is a Bad Guy
Every time you start to forget that Justin Bieber has always been a spoiled little weasel, a story like this comes out. Ever adorable pop star and actress Selena Gomez recently sat down with NPR‘s Lulu Garcia-Navarro on “Weekend Edition Sunday” to talk about her new album and some not-so surprising admissions were made about Bieber.
Garcia-Navarro asked if Gomez’s new single “Lose You to Love Me” was inspired by Bieber. Gomez confirmed that it was and added some detail saying that the song is:
“Not a hateful song; it’s a song that is saying — I had something beautiful and I would never deny that it wasn’t that. It was very difficult and I’m happy it’s over. It’s dangerous to stay in a victim mentality. And I’m not being disrespectful, I do feel I was a victim to certain abuse.”
When asked if she meant emotional abuse, Gomez was forthcoming with her response:
Yes, and I think that it’s something that — I had to find a way to understand it as an adult. And I had to understand the choices I was making. As much as I definitely don’t want to spend the rest of my life talking about this, I am really proud that I can say I feel the strongest I’ve ever felt and I’ve found a way to just walk through it with as much grace as possible.
Of course, Bieber’s camp didn’t comment on the interview, but an Instagram post by Bieber from last September 2019 all but confirms the allegations.
Bieber wrote:
“I became resentful, disrespectful to women, and angry. I became distant to everyone who loved me and I was hiding behind, a shell of a person that I had become. I felt like I could never turn it around. It’s taken me years to bounce back from all of these terrible decisions, fix broken relationships, and change relationship habits.”
We get it Justin, being handsome, rich, and talented is so hard that you had to take it out on other people. As for Gomez, she seems to be doing well and putting her time with Bieber in the rear view. At 27, the multi-talented artist has her whole life ahead of her, hopefully, one that has nothing to do with Bieber from here on out.
