Why is Wendy Williams Making Jokes About Amie Harwick’s Murder?

Did you know that if you type “Wendy Williams” into Google, the first thing that comes up is “Wendy Williams apology.” It is difficult to find out if Wendy Williams has apologized for a specific incident because there are just so many of them. This lady has a Quentin Tarantino level fetish for putting her foot in her mouth.

The latest thing she’s under fire for is making a joke about the murder of Amie Harwick, the former fiancée of Price is Right host Drew Carey. On her show on Monday, while relating the details of Harwick’s murder by an ex-boyfriend who pushed her off a balcony to her death. That went over about as well as you’d expect, especially since even I am not tasteless enough to make jokes about this.

The outrage was basically immediate, you could even tell she lost the studio audience in the moment. Significantly, Fox News is reporting that Harwick’s brother is asking for a public apology from Williams, which would be her second this week, I believe.

“Domestic violence is something no one should be joking about,” Chris told Fox News. “This is a difficult time for my family and for Wendy Williams to make light of this tragedy is very upsetting to us and extremely distasteful.”

He continued: “My sister worked tirelessly for domestic violence victims and women’s rights. Wendy Williams should apologize publicly to my family for her comment.”

I can’t say I blame him. Fox says Williams didn’t respond to a request for comment, but I have to imagine she can only record so many apology videos at a time, she must have quite the backlog of them, so it’s probably like going to the DMV where you have to a take a number and wait.
