Johnny Depp’s Exes Winona Ryder and Vanessa Paradis Testify He Was Never Violent in Libel Lawsuit

The latest chapter in the long saga of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s divorce is that Depp’s lawsuit against the Rupert Murdoch owned tabloid The Sun in the UK for libel has resulted in two of of Depp’s exes giving sworn statements about his behavior with them.

Variety reported the details of the statements from Winona Ryder and Vanessa Paradis and they aren’t really helping The Sun or Amber Heard with their claims.

Paradis said in her statement: “I have known Johnny for more than 25 years. We’ve been partners for 14 years and we raised our two children together. Through all these years I’ve known Johnny to be a kind, attentive, generous, and non-violent person and father.”

She added: “He was never violent or abusive to me.”

Winona Rider provided similar testimony.

Ryder, with whom Depp had a relationship in the 1990s, said in her statement: “I cannot wrap my head around (Heard’s) accusations. He was never, never violent towards me. He was never, never abusive at all towards me.”

Heard’s lawyers replied that the fact that Depp wasn’t abusive to anyone else doesn’t mean he wasn’t abuse to Heard, which is true, but it’s important to keep in mind that Amber Heard has been accused of domestic abuse by a previous partner. Everything we know taken together definitely paints a specific picture. And it’s a damn shame because it means admitting JK Rowling was right about something which is really annoying.
