John Boyega Sounds Like He’s Done With ‘Star Wars’, Can You Blame Him?

Star Wars

Man the new Star Wars movies were terrible. They were so bad they made the prequels look better in comparison (except Phantom Menace). The only high point in the movies is that they were excellently acted garbage movies with terrible scripts and no vision.

I especially feel bad for John Boyega who was promoted as the star of the movie but forced to take a backseat to Daisy Ridley’s Rey. They also made him smaller on the poster in China because of racism, And whether that racism real or perceived that has to feel bad for an actor when the company decides appeasing people who are racist against you is a priority.

Unsurprisingly, Variety reports Boyega has “moved on” from Star Wars and has no interesting in returning to the series.

Boyega revealed he has moved on from the character in response to a user comment on one of his recent Instagram posts showing the actor back on set. User @techsteveo wrote: “Force Finn in action with Green lightsaber dressed in black is all I want from the next SW film!”

Boyega replied: “lol no thank you. I’ve moved on [heart emoji].”

Disney has some sort of plans for more Star Wars movies, but they were really up in the air even before COVID put the entire film industry up in the air. Is Rian Johnson still making a trilogy of films or not? What about the Game of Thrones dudes? I’ll bet they wish they could ditch those guys after seeing how Thrones fell apart without George RR Martin’s source material ran out.

Even though the Skywalker saga is over now, I’m sure Disney would have loved to do some side stories with Finn or Poe, but neither actor is interested in coming back for more Star Wars.

Boyega says he just doesn’t want to get typecast, but he also mentioned he’d be willing to come back for a sequel to Attack the Block, which seems like a bit of a contradiction.

However, when a user questioned whether Boyega would ever return as Moses, his breakout role in Joe Cornish’s 2011 “Attack the Block,” he replied, “I haven’t played Moses in over a decade. I’d love to revisit him. Now he is a BADASS.”

Sounds to me like someone liked Moses more than Finn. And by someone I mean anyone who has seen both movies.
