Britney Spears Has a New Single, But She May Never Perform Again Until Her Father is Removed as Her Conservator

Britney Spears really wants to fire her father.

We know that Britney has been trying to have her father removed as her conservator or at least saddled with a co-conservator, primarily because he’s not consulting with her before making business decisions.

The Associated Press reports that her lawyer told a judge she is not going to perform again if her father isn’t removed as her conservator.

“My client has informed me that she is afraid of her father,” Ingham told the judge. “She will not perform again if her father is in charge of her career.”

It’s actually a vinyl pressing of an unreleased track Spears recorded in 2016, but the timing is not great here. Read the room, Urban Outfitters.
Also, why is Urban Outfitters making records? Did they confuse it for a painting they didn’t pay the artist to use?
The court denied Spears’ request to have her father removed as a conservator on Wednesday, though her legal team plans to file further petitions on her behalf. In good news for Spears, the court-appointed Bessemer Trust as co-conservator, but I think we’re past that.
The real issue appears to be that she doesn’t want him to resume control over her non-financial decisions, like if she can get married. Jamie Spears stepped down from that role temporarily but Britney is looking to get his replacement made permanent, which seems like a really good idea.
Or just end her conservatorship altogether, that’s also an option.
