Jake Paul Says COVID is a Hoax Because He’s an Idiot

Have you ever noticed that when one of the Paul brothers does something that makes them seem like a decent person, the other one has to come out and remind you how stupid they both are? Well, Jake Paul is telling his young audience to go out and get COVID because it won’t hurt you.

Here’s what Paul told The Daily Beast when the subject turned to COVID and the party he threw in his mansion in July despite the pandemic:

Yeah. A hundred percent. There are people losing jobs, there are small businesses who are going bankrupt, there are millions of people who are unemployed right now, people are turning to alcohol and drugs to cope with everything that’s going on. This is the most detrimental thing to our society. COVID cases are at less than 1 percent, and I think the disease is a hoax.

The interview gets really funny because Marlow Stern, who was interviewing Paul, knows his s**t and Paul obviously doesn’t. Stern had to inform Paul that COVID has killed 5-10 times as many people as the average seasonal flu and that there isn’t a COVID vaccine yet like there is for the flu.

It’s a bit strange Paul offered up this opinion because he pretty much declined to comment on anything controversial, saying “Um… you know, I don’t wanna go down that road!” when asked about Lil Wayne’s photo op with President Trump.

You should read the interview because it got heated, with Paul accusing Stern, the Senior Entertainment Editor of The Daily Beast of trying to make a name for himself by getting a viral interview with Paul (one which Paul’s team initiated) saying “Yeah. You love it. You’re having the best day ever right now, because of this interview.” Stern had the last word, because it was his article, and those words were “Oh, I don’t know about that.”

This was shortly after Paul going on a rant about how face masks don’t stop the spread of coronavirus, which is kind of true if you’re a sociopath: wearing a mask doesn’t make you less likely to contract COVID, it just makes you less likely to pass it others if you’re already infected. So if you place no value on any human life other than your own, then yes, masks do nothing.

I get it, it sucks wearing a mask and it sucks being stuck inside and it’s especially annoying because, for most people, they’re not doing for themselves (though COVID can have detrimental effects even to healthy people. Look at the athletes who have tested positive for COVID and performed much worse after recovering than they had previously), they’re doing for other people. It’s like if your income taxes required you not to have a social life. But sometimes you have to do unpleasant things in order to have roads and schools and not have a massive number of preventable deaths.
