Joe Exotic Wants Kim Kardashian to Get Him Pardoned

2020 is the strangest year of my life and it isn’t even close. The pandemic and isolation have driven us all to collectively snap or something because everything just seems weird.

For example, everyone was obsessed with Tiger King on Netflix, a true-crime doc about an overly flamboyant big cat zoo owner who goes by Joe Exotic who was convicted of trying to hire an assassin to kill his rival Carole Baskin, who herself had a spouse disappear under mysterious circumstances.

Joe maintains his innocence and thinks his newfound fame might be enough to convince outgoing President Donald Trump to pardon him as he leaves the White House. Joe may actually get his wish because Trump was always more circus promoter than leader anyway.

His legal team said he was close to a pardon last week, and we just learned from Entertainment Tonight that Joe even reached out to Kim Kardashian to see if she could get the President’s ear on his behalf.

“I know you have never met me and may never want to however I do believe that you hold the values of our justice system dear to your heart,” Joe writes in the letter dated Nov. 4. “I am writing you this letter not as Joe Exotic but as the person Joseph Maldonado-Passage, asking you to please help me by just taking 10 minutes out of your life and placing a call to President Trump to look at my 257 page pardon it’s all the evidence I’m innocent and ask him to sign my pardon so I can return home to [my husband] Dillon [Passage] and my father.”

I can’t blame Joe for exploring all his options, but does it seem weird to anyone else that Kim Kardashian is now the face of prison reform? Kim is handling an actually important case as she’s petitioning President Trump to commute the death sentence of Brandon Bernard, which is scheduled to take place December 10th.

L.A. County’s new D.A. is also interested in talking to Kim Kardashian about prison reform, a sentence I never in a million years thought I would write but here we are. So 2020, in addition to everything else, is the year where you need Kim Kardashian to notice you if you want justice. Excellent trend.
