Jamie Spears’ Lawyer Says Britney Can End Her Conservatorship at Any Time, She Just Must Not Want To

Apparently, all Britney Spears has to do to end her conservatorship is ask. She apparently just hasn’t gotten around to it.

At least that’s what her father’s lawyer told People.

“Any time Britney wants to end her conservatorship, she can ask her lawyer to file a petition to terminate it; she has always had this right but in 13 years has never exercised it,” Thoreen claims. “Britney knows that her Daddy loves her, and that he will be there for her whenever and if she needs him, just as he always has been — conservatorship or not.”

See, that’s weird because she very much did ask for Jamie to be removed as her conservator and he and his lawyers fought tooth and nail against it and tried to have the co-conservator Spears asked for by name removed.

Filing a petition to end the conservatorship and ending it are two very different things, and I get the feeling her father’s legal team would probably fight against ending it. If the goal here was respecting Britney’s wishes, her father could have just willingly stepped down.

Britney might actually like the idea of having someone watch out for her best interests and looking after her money, but she clearly doesn’t want her dad to be the one to it.

So here’s my idea: get her sister Jamie to replace her father. Just sneak it in since they have the same name. Reveal it like it’s a plot twist in an Ocean’s 11 film. Just have Jamie Lynn rappel into the courtroom holding a contract and go “not so fast!”

Okay, that probably won’t work, but it seems like the most feasible option here.
