Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong Terminating His U.S. Citizenship Because of Roe v. Wade

Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong hates the Roe v. Wade decision so much he’s giving up his U.S. citizenship. In this America though, he will be forced to carry it out until the end.

Armstrong performed at Glastonbury Festival where he shouted out “F**k America!” before telling fans he’s renouncing his citizenship and moving to the UK.

F**k America. I’m renouncing my citizenship. I’m fucking coming here. There’s too much fucking stupid in the world to go back to that miserable fucking excuse for a country. Oh, I’m not kidding, you’re going to get a lot of me in the coming days.

Ireland allows abortion up to 12 weeks (other exception apply after that). In Britain, women can obtain abortions up to 24 weeks with two doctors’ approvals. If Armstrong’s moving based on abortion laws, UK does have the more accepting laws.

Maybe Armstrong will just say he’s moving “here” at all concerts now, kinda like “Hello Cleveland!”

Armstrong’s not the only American looking to bounce. Search results for “how to move to Canada from U.S.” and “How to become a Canadian citizen” skyrocketed after the Roe v. Wade decision.

This weekend’s Glastonbury Festival has seen multiple musicians protest the decision. Olivia Rodrigo shouted f**k you to the Supreme Court Justices and had the crowd singing the same. Phoebe Bridgers also had the crowd shout “F**k You” to the Supreme Court.

How long will these musicians keep up this energy? It took 50 years for conservatives to overturn Roe v. Wade. Will Armstrong and Rodrigo keep up the fight that long?
