Robert Downey Jr. Is Bankrolling Armie Hammer Because Hammer Is Close to Broke Fighting Rape Allegations
Armie Hammer is so broke Robert Downey Jr. is supporting him. That’s what happens when Hollywood shuns you for alleged rape and cannibalism claims.
According to Vanity Fair, Downey Jr. paid for Hammer’s stay last year at a Florida rehab facility called The Guest House. His lawyer had said Hammer checked in for drug, sex and alcohol addictions. You know, the usual.
On top of that, Downey Jr.’s been giving Hammer money until Hammer gets back on his feet Considering Hammer is selling timeshares in the Cayman Islands, that day won’t come soon.
While Downey Jr. and Hammer don’t appear to have any close relationship, at least known to Hollywood media, Downey Jr. feels a kinship to Hammer because of their past troubles and addictions.
One source told Vanity Fair:
Everyone looks at Armie thinking that he’s had some sort of privileged life—and that must mean there were no problems in his youth and everything was peachy keen…But that’s not necessarily the way things go. Just because you come from an upbringing where financial resources are plentiful doesn’t mean life isn’t without problems.
Those financial resources aren’t plentiful at all.
Muna Mire, a producer on Showtime’s Desus & Mero, earlier this week shared a flyer with Hammer’s picture on it. The flyer advertised Hammer as a concierge to tourists wanting to visit the islands.
On top of that, pics went around the internet showing Hammer in uniform selling timeshares in an office.

At first, the hotel that employed Hammer denied he worked there. However, they changed their mind later and spilled the beans.
Per Variety:
He is working at the resort and selling timeshares. He is working at a cubicle,” a source, who called Variety this week, explains. “The reality is he’s totally broke, and is trying to fill the days and earn money to support his family.
That’s admirable? I mean, if you forget he’s in this position because he allegedly raped women and wanted to eat them.
Hammer previously had his estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers and his two children with him in the Cayman Islands. However, the publicity from the recent news got too much so he and the family booked it back to Los Angeles. I hear he’s got a great deal on knives if you’re interested.
