Julia Fox Says Childhood Was Invented to Sell Toys Which Made The Internet Cry

Are we allowed to say crazy anymore? Julia Fox says kids are an invention of consumerism and buying them cleaning tools early on makes them self-sufficient. Makes sense.

Fox dated Kanye West and we now know the both, umm…have unique perspectives.

Fox made a Tik Tok about how the concept of childhood was invented in the 18th century. Before that, they were just “little adults”. She knows this because paintings from that time didn’t show them as kids with “angelic features” like they have now.

Here’s her whole philosophy. Please follow along.

Hey guys, I’m just coming on here to remind you guys that childhood…the concept of childhood was only invented in the 18th century. Prior to that children were just regarded as little adults. That’s why in a lot of old paintings, the children don’t look the same way that we show them today. You know, with the like angelic features and all that stuff, they didn’t do that back then.

Capitalism invented childhood to sell parents consumer goods.

I think that the idea of childhood was invented as a way to just get parents to spend a lot of money on s**t that kids don’t…it’s not really teaching your kid anything. You just end up kind of raising the kids that’s like helpless and doesn’t know what to do.

Please take parenting tips from Fox, she says rather than milk and educational toys, or even little trucks and cars, give them a mop and have them clean your house.

I found that with my son that he doesn’t care for his toys and he is actually more interested in like what I’m doing. So, I suggest everyone buy their kid a little mini mop, a mini broom and start teaching them those life skills really young.

Why? Because they’ll have a head start on all those degenerate toddlers who spent their time building Legos and puzzles and s**t.

So that when they enter the real world, they don’t have to outsource for everything and they don’t know how to do things for themselves. I think that’s really important. And, you know…

Yes, you know…

The internet’s reaction was swift.

Some blamed Kanye.

Bringing Drew Barrymore into this? Nooo, don’t put her and Fox in the same sense.

Fox is more Plato than Plato to this person.

You remember how children used to be useful?

We need more hot takes from Julia Fox.
