Henry Ruggs Joins the Raiders’ Hall of Shame

Midjourney

Well, it looks like Henry Ruggs is just another statistic in the long line of Raiders players with legal troubles. It’s almost like a rite of passage to get arrested or charged with something if you play for the Raiders. And now, Ruggs is facing some serious consequences for his actions.

As you remember, Ruggs was driving drunk at a whopping 156 mph when he crashed into another car, killing a woman and her dog. And now, he’s finally pleaded guilty to felony DUI causing death. Took him long enough, right?

But here’s the kicker. The district attorney cited “possible legal obstacles” to obtaining a conviction at trial. What the hell does that even mean? Are they saying that Ruggs might have gotten away with it if they went to trial? Thankfully, Ruggs won’t be able to appeal his conviction and sentence.

Of course, Ruggs declined to comment as he left the courthouse with his entourage of about nine people. I guess he’s too busy feeling sorry for himself to apologize to the family of the woman he killed.

And get this, his attorneys promised a “more complete” statement following sentencing. Are they going to try to spin this into some kind of sob story?

Don’t forget, the Raiders dropped Ruggs like a hot potato as soon as they found out about the crash. Killing a woman and her dog was where the Raiders drew the line.
