Leighton Meester was a prison baby

Star Magazine reports that Gossip GIrl star Leighton Meester was born while her mother was serving time in a Texas federal prison.

The mom was allowed to stay in a halfway house for the birth, but had to return to prison on the day Leighton turned three months. The future star was raised by a relative while mom served out her sentence for her role in a major drug-running ring.

Star goes on to say Leighton’s father, grandfather and aunt all did time in federal prison for drug dealing. Oh, Leighton. You need a spanking. You’ve been a bad girl. Well, not you, but your family. Eh, whatever. Look, can you just let me spank you? That would be so cool.
