‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ May Pass $1 Billion in Sales

Batman V Superman / DC

Surprise, moviegoers love Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. More cocaine money for Ben Affleck. According to Deadline:

Latest word on advance ticket sales for Warner Bros’ Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice per various sources is that they’re outstripping 20th Century Fox’s Deadpool (opening weekend $132.4M), The Avengers ($207.4M) and Universal’s Furious 7 ($147.1M)…

I’m surprised it’s doing better than Deadpool. Deadpool had such great word of mouth. Maybe it’s all the superheroes appearing in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It’s about superheroes right? Maybe it’s about men in tight underwear and codpieces aka John Travolta’s home videos.

Deadline reports Zack Snyder’s superhero epic, which pitches Ben Affleck’s caped crusader against Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel, is outpacing the 2012 films The Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers, and last year’s Fast & Furious 7, in terms of upfront receipts. All three movies breached the $1bn (£706m) mark worldwide, with the latter pair both scoring more than $1.5bn.

$1 billion dollars equals the GDP of the country of Samoa. Basically, if Samoa gambled all their money on this movie, they’d double their GDP. Or think of it another way. How many nannies could suck and blow Affleck for $1 billion dollars? All of L.A. multiple times over. No wonder Affleck is so dedicated to this movie.
