Welp, Rio Olympians Better Enjoy Swimming Through ‘Human Crap’ and Corpse-Riddled Waters

When are we going to cancel the Rio Olympics? Before or after we force the Olympics to swim in s**t?

I don’t think the Olympics should happen this time around. We can try again in four years (I hope we don’t), but the ship has set sail on the 2016 Olympics in Rio and it’s sailing in waters lousy with sewage, dead bodies and pollution so bad the water is black.

Seven years ago when Rio’s bid to host the Olympics was accepted, the Rio de Janeiro government had vowed to have clean water by 2016. But… the exact opposite has been returned. The city‘s water supply is full of diarrhea-causing rota viruses, drug resistant ‘super bacteria’ and probably hundreds of pathogens and corpses yet to be discovered.

Dr. Daniel Becker, a local pediatrician in Brazil, says “foreign athletes will literally be swimming in human crap, and they risk getting sick from all those microorganisms.” A member of the Dutch sailing team says “we just have to keep our mouths closed when the water sprays up.”

There’s one week for this water to be suitable for the Olympic sailing, windsurf and open water swimming event participants or we’ll cancel it. Or we’ll move this back to London. But most responsibly, we should cancel it.
