Kevin Ware Suffers Broken Leg During Louisville VS Duke

During the Louisville/Duke game on Sunday, Lousville player Kevin Ware suffered a broken leg and that’s putting it mildly. Ware went up to block a shot when he landed and basically snapped his leg in half. Imagine snapping a tree branch. That’s what it looked like

According to reports, it was a compound fracture of the tibia and fibula. In fact, the injury was so gnarly that his tibia went right through the skin. Here’s a picture of it if you want to gross yourself out. A replay of the accident below.

Players from both teams reacted with shock. Naturally. One tweet said a couple people on the Lousville bench looked like they were about to vomit or did vomit.

CBS only showed two replays and then focused on reaction shots. There was a tweet of a replay from their March Madness account for a brief second before they scrubbed the video.

After a long break, Ware was stretchered off the court and straight to the hospital for surgery. He’ll be out for at least a year. The good news is Lousville went on to win the game. Ware’s teammates visited him in the hospital afterward bringing along the trophy. They posed him with it Weekend at Bernie’s style. Because that’s what friends do with your semi-unconscious body.
