Ben Affleck Might Want Out of Batman, Probably Is Sick of Hearing from Nerds

Batfleck may be no more.

According to studio insiders, Ben Affleck wants out of Batman entirely. He already removed himself as director and apparently wants to get out of the Batsuit completely.

None of this is confirmed, but an insider at Collider has talked to multiple people who’ve made it clear that Affleck does not want to continue the franchise and if he can’t get out of the standalone Batman movie, that will definitely be his last appearance as the Caped Crusader.

If Affleck does vanish into the night, Armie Hammer is rumored to take on the role. Sadly, Hammer’s luck with burgeoning franchises (Lone Ranger, Man from U.N.C.L.E.) is pretty poor, but maybe he’ll be able to bring some energy to the DC Universe.

All of this is totally speculative at this point and maybe Ben is happily lifting weights right now to prepare for the film. But it looks fairly probable that Affleck will abandon the superhero genre for good.
