Ben and Casey Affleck’s Dad Still Likes Them, Shocking Interview Reveals

I’ll bet you’ve been sitting at home just waiting to hear Timothy Affleck’s opinion on things, haven’t you? I know every time I turn on the news I think to myself, “That’s well and good, but when is Timothy Affleck going to weigh in?” Well, Grazia has obviously been thinking the same thing, so they got him to sit down and talk to them about his sons Ben and Casey. Well, at least that’s a thing he knows about, I guess.

‘It has taken a toll on both of my sons,’ the 74-year-old told Grazia last week. ‘Hollywood is a disgusting place. I think that’s been a major factor in Ben’s drinking. You’re kind of forced to develop a persona that is hard to shed and go home to your family. It affects your whole life. I think that’s one of the dangers of the film industry.’

I mean, the dude isn’t wrong, Hollywood is a pretty disgusting place. For starters, Harvey Weinstein lives there. Affleck is mostly talking about the allegations against his sons in the wake of the #metoo movement. I thought the thing with Ben Affleck was pretty minor, while Caey Affleck is accused of more serious misbehavior. Timothy had this to say when asked about those incidents.

‘You’d have to ask them,’ said Timothy of the claims. ‘It doesn’t interest me, they know what they’re doing. They’re both kind and good men. They treat women well, I can guarantee that. After 40 odd years, you know your kids.

‘Both of my sons are hard workers. They have a tremendous amount of empathy, they don’t forget where they came from, they’re very kind and generous. Those are the qualities that I value.’

In the end, neither actor’s career is going to end over the allegations against them. Ben Affleck is still going to be Batman and Casey Affleck is still going to be a ghost in a sheet from A Charlie Brown Christmas. But no matter what happens in the world, I’m never going to actually care what Timothy Affleck thinks about it.
