David Chappelle Sued Because of a Banana Peel

This is why celebrities are so cautious. In 2015, David Chappelle performed in Sante Fe, New Mexico. One audience member didn’t take a liking to a Chappelle joke, enough so that he threw a banana peel at him. Chappelle called out the thrower, Christian Englander, who is white, as a racist. Of course, Englander denied it was a racist act, saying “I thought a joker could take a joke.”

When Englander was charged with battery and disturbing the peace, Chappelle showed up at the station and asked him, “Don’t you know bananas are racist?” Also, Englander should’ve just heckled him with jokes instead of fruit. The charges were eventually dropped because Chappelle refused to participate in the prosecution.

Well, now Englander is suing Chappelle because he alleges Chappelle’s bodyguard roughed him up. According to Hollywood Reporter:

Christian Englander’s lawsuit filed Friday contends the presumed bodyguard struck Englander twice as he was being restrained.

*rolls eyes*

You’re gonna throw fruit at someone and not expect a reaction. Okay.

This is just another frivolous lawsuit. Look at this guy’s pic. Dude’s a clown. Supposedly, he makes his living as a joker and an artist. Right. Basically, he’s suing to get himself more publicity. No wonder celebs end up hiding inside their homes like Howard Hughes.
