To be an actor or actress in Hollywood, you have to be full of yourself and somewhat delusional. Evangeline Lilly has both bases covered. The Lost actress tells Women’s Health that she isn’t that famous because she doesn’t want to be. Lilly says producers “have seen that I haven’t picked up on the opportunity to become a big movie star. It frustrates [them] that they’ve given me this chance to become the next Angelia Jolie” but she hasn’t gone after it. Lilly adds, “Sure, I’d love to be her, but just the humanitarian side.”
This kind of overselling is what keeps B-listers sane in Hollywood. If they came down to reality, they’d probably sink into a deep depression and kill themselves. Sort of like me and my modeling career. I always tell people that I’m the hottest male model in the world right now when in reality I’m only somewhere in the top 10. There’s no time for modesty in this business.
