Selena Gomez Shows Ankle in Mosque, Muslims Flip Out

Selena Gomez committed a religious faux pas and well, hope she doesn’t die for it. During a recent mosque visit, she hiked up her dress to show some sexy ankle. Major no-no. The mosque in question, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center in Abu Dhabi, dictates men and women must wear “long, loose fitting, ankle length trousers or skies for women and men”. Cover those ankles you temptress!

Gomez eventually deleted the photo from Instagram but she didn’t lose her head over it. Yet. Gomez visited the mosque with Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Cody Simpson and Shay Mitchell and posted a pic of them laughing and smiling in the mosque, yet another thing Muslim culture forbids.

A bunch of comments on Instagram chastised her for her lack of respect: “Just because you’re not muslim doesn’t mean you don’t have to follow muslim tradition in a Muslim place,” and “The thing is, whichever religion you are, respect others and their beliefs!” At least Gomez didn’t throw up a “Westsiiidde!!” sign with her hands or go topless. Now, THAT would be awesome.
