J.D. Salinger: 1919-2010

J.D. Salinger has died at the age of 91. In a statement released by his son through a rep, J.D. died from natural causes at his home in New Hampshire.

The reclusive author is best known for Catcher in the Rye and also for teaching me how to read. Just kidding. I still don’t know how to read. But I really liked the picture on the cover of Catcher in the Rye. Red with gold letters. Wait. Now that I think about it, that’s pretty bland. They should change the cover. Again. This time to Holden Caulfield being jacked off by Bar Refaeli. I bet you J.D. would be more famous than ever. They should also drop “Salinger” from the title. That way kids will think it was written by Jack Daniels. Hm, how else can I disgrace one of the greatest authors of all time?

The Washington Post has a good read on Salinger if you’re interested.
